When choosing a Marine Pump, design and construction regarding watertight seals and corrosion resistant materials is a key consideration. Our 015 MARINE pump has been specifically built to cater for the Marine market and its fully sealed plastic construction and the use of stainless steel metal components throughout make it extremely resistant to corrosion both internally and externally.
Water damage is a very common problem associated with Fuel Pumps being used in a Marine environment. External salt water corrosion can occur when using metal-bodied pumps and leaky external joins and seals on poorly manufactured pumps will allow water to enter the pump body. Internal corrosion of metal parts from water contaminated fuel entering the pump is also a common problem, particularly if pumps are left idle for long periods as water build up inside the pumps will rust metal components.
The 015 MARINE pump is fully sealed and the plastic body of the pump makes it totally resistant to water damage of any kind. Our specially designed seals and grommets also limit the entry of water into the pump through the body itself.
All of the metal components contained within this pump, including the piston, screws, springs and washers are made of Stainless Steel which makes them resistant to corrosion if water enters the pump through the fuel supply.

ECCO LM FUELFLOW SERIES ELECTRONIC FUEL PUMPS are well suited to MARINE USE, in that unlike most other pumps on the market, they are produced almost entirely from injection moulded engineering quality plastics with the only metal parts being those required for electrical or magnetic circuits. They are therefore totally resistant to corrosion, in that even the pumping chamber, valve, filter and diaphragm have no metal parts. Electrically, the switching unit is all solid state, with no parts that can generate sparks, and the entire pump is completely insulated. The sophisticated design ensures a low level of noise and vibration.
OUTBOARDS
The 1LM12 can be used for priming outboard motors with inboard fuel supply. It seems that even the larger outboards are still hand primed before starting, whereas by fitting one of our pumps in the fuel line, with a press of a button or switch on the control panel, the outboard can be primed by simply depressing the button for a few seconds. The valves in the pump would act as a non-return for the fuel, but the outboards own pump would simply draw the fuel through the valves in the correct direction under normal operation. In the event of failure of the outboards own pump, the electric pump is available as a back-up.
DIESEL ENGINES
ECCO FUELFLOW Electronic fuel pumps can be fitted to diesel systems for use in emergency and maintainance situations to supply fuel for priming and bleeding when it is not desirable to turn the engineer over on the starter to operate the engines own pump.ECCO FUELFLOW pumps can also be used to supplydiesel to the injector pump in normal use.
